Welcome back

More than 70 days ago we turned off our ovens and packed away our aprons - joining the many millions of people at home waiting patiently for the right time to return from this awful pandemic and get back to doing what we love – baking bread.

So, I am beyond excited that the day has finally come for us to fire up our ovens and get back to baking. After weeks of careful planning, we are ready to re-open our first 3 stores in Richmond, Bedford Avenue and High Street Kensington. We will use the first three bakeries to trial our enhanced safety procedures designed to keep our teams and customers even safer.

We are proudly fully ‘COVID-19 secure’ and are complying with the Governments guidelines for a safe re-opening. The stores will look a little different to usual, with our seating areas closed and service available only for takeaway & delivery.

  • Our disabled toilets remain open, with enhanced cleaning in place
  • Our customer journey has been changed to suit the guidelines as you will have now come to expect from every other retailer that has continued to trade through this pandemic
  • We have protective screens in front of the tills, hand sanitizers at the card payment machines, social distancing markers on the floor and door hosts who will help keep the line moving whilst maintaining the 2-meter rules
  • We have developed a fully contactless click & collect journey which will soon be available via the Ole & Steen app
  • We have also partnered with Deliveroo and Uber Eats to deliver Ole & Steen, to your door

We have been touched and humbled by the many messages we have received during this lockdown and I want to thank you on behalf of myself and the whole team for the loyalty and encouragement you have shown to our brand since we opened our first UK bakery in 2016. We have big plans for the future and look forward to welcoming you back to all of our bakeries very soon.

Stay safe
